Nature of Power
Definition: Power is the ability to afflict change 
Theories of Power:
Realism: Struggle between self interested states for power, each state has its own self interests.
Liberalism: interdependence between states and powers, leads to a more just cooperative world.
Types of Power:
Hard Power: having power through punishment and forcing, military means. a coercive approach to international relations. 
Soft Power: Power through incentive and economic and cultural ties. Persuasive approach.
