The 5 students who seem to have no knowledge
Start with If conditional type 1.
Breakdown the grammar into the formula style structure.
Give the students the equivalent in their own language.
Give them plenty of practice.
Breakdown If condition type 2 into the formula structure. Explain when we use it compared to type 1. Give them the equivalent in their own language. Give them plenty of practice.
Give them plenty of practice with 1st and 2nd mixed together.
Occasional tutoring will be given by the high level students.
Breakdown 3rd conditional type with them. Explain in their language how we use it and what the equivalent would be in their language. Explain in their language what the difference is between 2nd and 3rd conditionals.Give them plenty of practice.
Give them practice of 1st, 2nd and 3rd conditionals together.
Show example scenarios from the book to help with context.
The 12 students who seem to have some general knowledge of the grammar.
Give them a brief breakdown of If conditional type 1.
Give them some quick practice on it.
Give them a brief breakdown of If conditional type 2 and when we use it. Show clearly the difference between type 1 and 2. Give them practice on the two types.
Give them a detailed breakdown of If conditional type 3 and when we use it. Clearly show the difference between the second and third type. Give them practice on types 2 and 3 together and then mix in type 1.
Give detailed scenarios in which one of the forms should be used. Get them to identify which form would be correct for each scenario.
Show example scenarios from the book to help with context.
The 5 students who answered all questions correctly.
Give detailed scenarios in which one of the forms should be used. Get them to identify which form would be correct for each scenario.
Using the book The Hunger Games, get them to find scenarios in the book and get them to write the forms which would be used in those situations or the questions which should be asked.
Allocate tutoring time for these students to help the first group.
Give them examples of mix conditionals and see if they can come up with their own.
