Aquatic Biomes Project
Temperature Bog (freshwater biome)
Temperature: average annual temperature (25.2 °C)
Insolation: cool temperatures usually
precipitation: averages 1326 mm
NPP: 202.7 g m−2 yr−1

:
NPP
Net primary production - dry (gArea (106km) m-2year-1)
HIGH
Temperature: water temps between (23°–29°Celsius) and some can withstand 40°Celsius
Insolation: The high insulation due to the warming climate trapping heat in our atmosphere and causing ocean temperatures to rise and corals to bleach
Precipitation: 2000.25 mm of average yearly precipitation
Mangroves (saltwater biome)
NPP: 1522 gC m-2 yr−1
Insolation: range of 1500-3000 mm of annual rainfall
Precipitation: between 1000 to 1500 mm per year
Images (2)
Temperature: average temperatures between (22° C-10° C)
Does NOT require salt water to form, however usually found in freshwater
Hydrothermal Vents (saltwater biome)
Temperature: average of 400°C
NPP: chemosynthesis, specialized bacteria create energy from the hydrogen sulfide present in the mineral-rich water pouring out of the vents, therefore lower than (gArea (106km) m-2year-1)
Insolation:
Water seeps through cracks in the Earth's crust, dissolving metals and minerals as it becomes super-heated from nearby magma.
Result of volcanic activity on the ocean floor , therefore low

Precipitation: all over the world, around tectonic plates
