Settings
Hospitals- providing medical and surgical treatment in emerceys also. Services include- short term hospitals, emergency room.
GP surgeries- treat all common medical conditions and refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent and specialist treatment Services- carrying out tests, blood tests etc.
Clinics- department where outpatients are given medical treatment or advice, especially of a specialist nature.
when workers from different departments work as a team for a services user
Responsibilities
Health and safety- guidelines that protect the health and safety of employers and public, does this by reducing hazards
Equality and diversity- aims to safeguard thoses who face inequality or harassment
Mediclaim policy- shields you against the the medical expenses
Safeguarding police- to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
DBS- allows employers to prevent people working with vulnerable groups
Death of residents- staff must document circumstances leading to the death, next ensure decesare's is gone and room left tidy.
Recoverty
Rehabilitation
Allows a person to recover from an adisent etc so they can live long and independent For many people such as heart attachckes, drug use, mental health issues cancer and stokes
People involved include, doctors nurses, support workers etc.
How to aid recovery
Prescrised medicals- drugs that are not allowed over the counter because they are stronger, this allows them to fight of infecasions
Surgery- only way that can elimses disability and reduce pain permertalitty in a short time frame.
Radiotherapy- high energy rays e.g. x rays which destroy cancer cells in a given arara, very effective and allows people to get on with everyday life.
Support groups- this is where people are brought together who are going though similar experiences and share they personal experiences

Personal care and techquity-
Health and Hygiene
African american- spices in diet and rise, pay attention to skin and hair
Hindu- like to clean under free flowing water, are are vegetarians
Jewish- kosher meals meaning they meant needs to be killed in a human way.
Skin- pork is forbidden and are vegetais
Muslims- vegetarians diat
Assistive tech- tool or strategy people use with disabilities to reach they full potential.
Care plans a written statement of your individual assessed needs identified during a Community Care Assessment.
Care plan cycle- 1.asses the services users needs 2. mortar he effects of the care plan 3. amed the plan if needed 4. implement the care plan 5. review the effeivies of the care plan
Promoting anti discriminatory practice
Reasons why include- race, gender, sex, illness- have opponents so will miss time at work, disability will not be able to carry role out
Prejudice- opinions or fixed attitudes about social group that are not based on reason or evidences
How to promote anti-discriminatory practice
ensure equal access to workspace e.g. ramps change behaviour/ challenged it, all people have the same duty of care, embrace diversity, multi faith rooms need to be available and provide food for all faiths
Empowerment
Empowerment supporting people to take control of their lives and future by talking full part in decisions about the care and treatments
Such as- right t dignity, indepences, consider services user when planning care, boots they self esteem and allow themselves to cover up when washing
Advocate- a person who speaks fr someone else and represents their views and preferences.
Monitoring the work of people in health and social settings
Line manger
Line manager- manger who is responsible for maner the work of individuals or team within a organisation
CQC- register health and adult social care service providers in England and to inspect whether or not standards are being met. Ofsted- government department that inspects and regulates institutions in England providing education
Whistle blowing- when a staff report unsafe practice to a outside body because the people are no taking responsibility.
Services users feedback- setting will have a system that lets user etc provide feedback, such as meetings, suggestions boxes, services user surveys.
If the services user is found quality a criminal investigation will be out in place, where abuse occurs or laws have been broken. This can result in a person being fired or imprisoned.
Data
GDPR- Provides rules on how personal information should be processed and stored.
Data- must be not be handed over, not kept longer then needed, not be shared, and must be kept safe and secure.
