        Protestantism had 3 branches.
        
        Lutheranism (based off Luther's teachings in Germany)
        
        Calvinism (based off John Calvin's teachings in Switzerland)
        
        He believed that people should be more in control of their own faith and their Church.
        
        Calvin woke a book that stated that sinning was in people's nature and couldn't regulate themselves.
        
        Calvinist Churches were simpler, no fancy artifacts or traditional outfits could be used of brought in.
        
        Anglicanism (based off King Henry VII's teachings in England)
        
        King Henry VII became King in 1509, he wanted a son but his wife unfortunately couldn't have one so he wanted to have a divorce. Divorces weren't allowed in the Catholic Church so he called Parliament to take the power away from the Pope and it became the Reformation Parliament.
        
        After this event, King Henry's life faced many challenges. He remarried many times and had 3 children. Not every marriage produced children and many of his wives died before him.
        
        He died in 1547.
        
        Apart from the 3 branches of Protestantism other groups started to form.
        
        The Anabaptists formed, the thought that people who were baptized as babies should be baptized as adults.
        
        They were considered a threat and were persecuted by the Catholics and Protestants.
        
        They survived and became Mennonites and Amish.
