Disc 4: Sankaku Escapes

Triangle Principles: All triangles must have these two elements:
- Closed Wedges around Arm and Neck
- Legs in a figure four
- Connection of knee of strangle leg to neck
Intercepting Leg Principle:
Form a knee elbow connection when opponent opens guard to prevent them from locking triangle.

Gyaku Sankaku
Prevention
After completing over under pass, opponent attempts to lock Gyaku Sankaku
Join Hands together, frame and extend or form a knee elbow connection to prevent them from locking a trap triangle.
If opponent is able to lock a trap triangle, extend frames, then counter attack.

Yoko Sankaku
Prevention
Opponent in north south with kimura grip on your right arm and your hands are locked together. Opponent attempts to lock a yoko Sankaku
As you see opponent stepping with left foot through the elbow, unlock your hands and then quickly rejoin then behind opponent's left calf.
Use your arm frames to push the leg upwards and catch opponent's left calf with your legs in a figure four.

Late Escapes
Opponent has Figure Four Hantai Sankaku with good angle. Your right arm inside.
(Too much weight on the back of your head to try to posture and escape here, better to convert to Ushiro)
Grab inside opponent's left knee with your left hand. Turn left onto your back falling into an Ushiro Sankaku

Disc 1: Juji Gatame
Juji Principles:
Must disrupt one of the following for a successful escape:
- Lever: Wrist Control with hands or armpit
- Wedge: Legs against shoulder and head
- Fulcrum: Elbow against hip
From Bottom Position:
- Perpendicular angle (except for platform armbar)
- Postural Control via legs / top lock
Three Quarter Juji:
Reinforced wedges prevent you from turning and sitting up. Sitting up also exposes you to omote sankaku.Top Lock:
Generally cannot finish from top lock but can be finished from figure four top lock. (dead orchard)Quarter Juji:
Weakest Armlock but comes on fast. Often happens when you pass and opponent tries to re-guard. Leg over the head is the only wedge.

Three Quarter Juji
Walk your legs towards your opponent's right hip to make legs easier to clear. Thumb post on two feet and push over your head.
Turn onto your right side and come up on top. Thumb post with left arm on right leg and pull your right elbow out of danger.

Opponent wedges feet behind your head, making it difficult for you to sit up and attempts a pillow juji.
Turning Escape:
Push opponent's feet over your head and onto your chest. Lift your right shoulder, point your right thumb down, walk in a semi circle on your left side and come up onto knees.

Quarter Juji
Opponent Locks quarter juji from bottom position on your right arm. Post left hand on opponent's near right knee and come up onto feet. Walk and circle to north south on your feet.
Cross Body Ride Entry:
Stack opponent by pushing feet to the floor. Slide right shin over opponent's left calf. Left hand grips opponent's near left hip, right hand grips opponent's far right leg. Sit backwards and insert left hook. Lock scorpion and control right arm. Option to transition to back.
