Geography of Sai Kung

Residents started to throw normal trash in recycle bins because there isn't any more spaces.

Residents throw rubbish to the beaches there.

Since Sai Kung is a rural place, there are lots of mountain routes and people throw and leaves a track of rubbishes.

Angered residents complain about these non-environmental friendly action that Sai kung citizens do.

EPD is trying to Remake future developments to increase eco-friendliness and improve the efficiency of Hong Kong’s recycling.

To solve this problem the EPD will make the bins bigger and frequently pick up rubbish.

The charging plan for 2019 requires citizens to pay for the collection bags to encourage recycling and “pay for what we dumped.”

There is a fixed penalty fine of HK$1500 for littering but there is barely any polices patrolling a rural country park.

Each day the Sai Kung clean up team has clean up about16,000 tonnes of trash, which includes a lot of plastic products.

The super typhoon will dredge up tonnes of trash for the bottom of the sea.

The district council there should let the residents gather in a specific place and tell them to stop using too much plastic and illegally dumping them like throwing normal rubbish in recycling bins.

The district council or the clean up groups should increase the beaches or streets clean up to make Sai Kung a better district.

Tell restaurants in that district to use less plastic and decrease the amount of get aways.
