Health Equity
Definition
Lack of systematic differences in health between advantaged and disadvantaged groups

Difference between equity and equality
Health equality = same health outcomes for everyone (not possible due to female/male biological differences, etc.)
Health equity = creating equal chances for everyone to be healthy
Vicious nature of health inequities
Putting already disadvantaged groups (i.e. poor, female, members of a racial, disenfranchised, ethnic, or religious group) at further disadvantages
Lack of political, social, or economical power characteristic to disadvantaged groups
