Then Bonar Law took over but died a year later due throat cancer. 1922-1923

Because just within 6 years there were 3 different prime ministers from two different parties, which held different political views.
This time politically marks the decline of the Liberal Party and the rise in popularity of the Labour Party under Ramsay MacDonald.

Liberal Decline
Gallipoli Campaign 1915

A year into WW1, Britain attacked the Ottoman Empire in Gallipoli, modern day Turkey. (ottoman empire empire 1299- 1917)
The Liberal Government completely misjudged the campaign, and they were heavily beaten.

Rise of Labour
Mainly happened due to the fall of the Liberal party and the confusion around the party. So many people who were more left/ working class supported the labour party.
post war economy
The post war economy was struggling massively. There was huge amounts of debts which were incurred by the government to allow them to fight the wars. This lead to high inflation and an unstables pound. This so the standard of living drop to victorian standards.

Protectionism – Baldwin, to destroy the Liberals, put in this policy which made foreign goods more expensive than domestic goods. He used it in 1923 before abandoning it in 1924.
