LIFE PROCESSES: ANIMALS AND PLANTS
ANIMALS
NUTRITION
Animals eat other living things to receive nutrients
Carnivore
Hervivore
Omnivore
Eat meat and plants
Eat plants
Eat meat
REPRODUCTION
Describes the way living things make new living things
Viviparous
Oviparous
Lay eggs
give birth to live young
INTERACTION
Describes how animals react and communicate
Animals can walk, swim or fly
Use movements and sound to communicate
Some animals live in groups and other live alone
PLANTS
NUTRITION
Plants use SUNLIGHT, WATER AND NUTRIENTS from the sun to make their own food (photosynthesis)
ROOTS: Absorb water and nutrients
Water travel up the stem to the leaves
Leaves absorb carbon dioxide from the air and turn the water and nutrients into food
REPROCUCTION
By seed
seed grow inside the fruit or flower
By spores
INTERACTION
Plant react to their environment but they cannot move
Grow towards the light
Roots grow towards water
Some plants open and close
Some plants climb
