Odyssey Key events
Erebus
Odysseus and his men go to the land of the death, as Circe required. He uses one of his sheep as sacrifice to talk to the dead people.
He sees one of his men, Elpenor, and realizes that now was dead, and he tells him about how he died and asks Odysseus to bury him.
He then found out his mother was there, dead too. He only talks to her for a few moments and she tells him about how is everything in Ithaca.
He later meets Tiresias who tells him about how he will see Helio's cattle, and warned him that if they ate it they would not be able to get home safe.
Beginning
Odysseus went with the Greek army to a war in Troy, known as the Trojan war.
He left his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus, at Ithaca.
They defeated the Trojans by a plan that Odysseus created which consisted on making a wooden horse, that the Trojans thought was a gift for them, Odysseus and the army were hidden inside the horse and then they got out of it to attack.
Helios
When they get to Helio's island, as Circe had said, there was his cattle.
Even though Circe and Tiresias both told them not to eat the cattle, they didn't follow their advice and ate it.

Cyclops
Odysseus and 12 of his men went to see the cave where the cyclops were, he wanted to know if they were friendly or not.
They began talking to a Cyclops, he started eating two of the men and then he fell asleep.

Odysseus' plan
Odysseus gave the Cyclops wine until he fell asleep again, while he was asleep Odysseus conceded a tree trunk into the Cyclops' eye blinding him.
Then Odysseus and his men escaped the cave pretending they were sheep and when the Cyclops was asked what was happening he responded "Nobody's tricked me" since Odysseus told him that was his name.
They were able to get out, but the Cyclops cursed them.
Schylla and Charybdis
After crossing the sirens, there were two paths they could take.
To cross Schylla you had to pass through a monster with six heads that would eat six people, and Charybdis had no way out, since it had a giant water hole.
Odysseus prefers to risk six men but still wants to try to fight the monster. When he gets there he realizes he couldn't fight her so he looses six men and he describes it as the worst he had seen.
Odyssues saves his men
Odysseus goes to save his men, Circe gives Odysseus the drink to turn him into pig, but it didn't work since Hermes gave Odysseus a magic plant called molly that protects him from the witch.
Circe turns his men back into normal, but keeps them captured for a year.
Odysseus begs her to let them go and she accept but with the condition of having them visit the land of the death and hear Tiresias' prophecy.
Aeaea
They arrive to Aeaea, where the goddess and witch, Circe, lives. Odysseus divide his men into two groups.
One of them goes to explore and finds Circe's cave, one of the men stays outside the cave and watches Circe turn his friends into pigs.
Eurylochus, the man goes to tell Odysseus what has happened.
Calypso
Then he lands in the island of the goddess, Calypso.
Odysseus is trapped with her for seven years now and then Zeus asks her to set him free and she does.

Lotus Eaters
Odysseus and his men land in an unknown island, where some men go to explore the island and they found flowers called lotus.

The men that were exploring tasted them and they had to force them back into the ship to continue, but they lost two men.
King Aeolus
Odysseus met with King Aeolus, who was the kind of the wind. The king gives Odysseus two gifts, one gift was a bag with good winds, and the other was a bag with stormy winds.
While Odysseus was sleeping his men opened the bag with the bad winds, which took them again to King Aeolus' island.
Laestrygones
They get to the island of Laestrygones, who are like cannibals. They kill many of Odysseus men.

The Sirens
Circe warned Odysseus about the sirens. They didn't leave their island but they sang a song that made the people jump of their boats swim to their island and got eaten by them since it was a beautiful song and voice.
Odysseus' men wear candle wax in their ears in order for them to not be able to listen to the song, but since Odysseus wants to hear the song he gets tied to the boat so that he is stopped from jumping of the ship.
The Cicones
After winning the war, Odysseus and his men wen to Ismarus, the land of the Cicones, who were Trojans allies.
Odysseus and his men stole supplies they needed, but the Cicones attacked Odysseus men and killed many of them. So Odysseus and the remaining men left.
Ithaca
After 20 years, he arrives to King Alcinous' castle and tells him all the story about what has happened to in the last years.
