C3
Relative Formula Mass (Mr) is the sum of the relative atomic masses of the atoms in the numbers. For example, NaCl is made of Sodium and Chlorine. Sodium's relative atomic mass is 23 and chlorine's relative atomic mass is 35.5. Add 23 and 35.5 to make 58.5 which is the Mr.
In an exam if you are stuck on a question always work out the Mr and it will help you work out the rest.
-
The limiting reactant is the reactant that runs out first (e.g. a reactant with a mole of 0.5 is the limiting reactant if the other reactant had a mole of 0.6)
-
Percentage yield = mass of product actually made divided by maximum theoretical mass of product and times by 100

Atoms, Elements, Compounds and mixtures
-
Compounds contain more than one type of atom. They are made from elements by chemical reactions. (e.g. MgCl2 is magnesium chloride)
-
-
Displacement Reactions
Displacement reactions are reactions that when two metals react, the more reactive metal displaces the other metal in its compound. (e.g. Copper oxide + iron --> iron oxide + copper)
