A legal right that allows the owner to distribute, license and profit from it's use. This is normally for up to 70 years after the creators death. Once it has expired it's status changes to Public Domain
Trademark
Used to Identify and organisation or product. Their use is protected by law. It can be used without the permission of the owner
Intellectual properties
A piece of work, idea or an invention, which may. at some point be protected by copyright, trademark or patent. Inventions are protected by patent (Dyson) ideas a re protected by IP and materials by copyright
Patent
A form of intellectual property that gives the owner the legal right to exclude from making, using, selling and importing an invention for a limited number of years in exchange for publishing and enabling disclosure of the invention
Royalties
A legally binding payment made to an individual for the ongoing use for his or hers originally created assets, including copyrighted work, franchises and natural resources
