Constiuency
- GB is divided in 650 constiuencies (kiesdistricten) and people can vote on the one they would like to represent them
UKIP
- a little party that was set-up to convince people to leave the EU. at first people felt as if that was crazy but well yeah..
The speaker
- The second most impartonant 'commonor' of the country. He chairs and controls discussions x who is going to speak next, can demand a pubic apology, or even ban a MP for a few days
- the speaker is dragged to the chair, it's a tradition because being the speaker used to be an unpleasant job = he had to report to the monarch x that one didn't always liked the decesions that were made
question time
- 1 hour where questions can be asked to the government and the opposite can make them look incapable. The questions have to be prepared x delivered two days beforehand
bill to law
- mostly comes from the house of commons
- 1: reading: no debate
- 2: Second reading, debate x vote
- 3) committee stage: a committee examins the deatials x makes changes
- 4) report stage: house considers the changes/amandments
- 5) Third reading:with the changes x than to the house of Lords for the same steps. If they make change, back to the house of Commons
- 6) The monarch gives royal assent after agreement of both houses
Party system
- Whips tell the MP's what they have to vote (what the party says)
State opening
- Monarch asks to be invited in the House of Commons but is refused, instead MP's go to the house of Lord to listen to the queen.

House of Lords:
- debate about laws, pass laws, scrutinise
House of Commons/parliament:
- makes new laws, gives authority to the government to raise x spend money, discusses the governm activities
atmosphere:
- the parliament is by choice this small and has two sides, it was rebuilt this way
front-backbenchers:
- the leaders sit in the front, the others in the back
