- Focusing on the interaction between individuals and situations – leaders interact with the followers and followers interpret the leader’s behavior.
Contingency Approaches to Leadership / Path-goal theory (Robert House, 1971)
- It based on the assumption that a leader will assist followers in attaining their goals and to provide the necessary direction and support
. Life-Cycle or Situational Approach (Hersey-Blanchard leadership theory)
- Leaders should adjust their leadership styles (telling, selling, participating, and delegating) in accordance with the readiness of their followers.
