Lincoln is lazy, unemphatic and a betrayer. He is one of the book's villain as he betrayed our heroes
Themes
Family
(From my Marrow Thieves response #2) The concept of family is questioned in the book, as there is another model present that offers a healthy alternative. In our society, we are very strongly linked by the ones we are related to, even though it doesn't make much sense. Family is actually the sole reason for many different issues children have growing up. Without Migg’s support, Frenchie would have been helpless, desperate and wouldn’t have had the teachings and stories that helped to give Frenchie’s live some purpose. Naming your child Frenchie is actually quite the proof that his parents didn’t love him (joke). The links we have in blood are nothing compared to those that are really there for you. The characters proove that love doesn't have to be in genetics to be as strong.
With survival comes desperation, and this helplessness is really well pictured in the book. First, French mesrly ends up dying and many of his others friends nearly die as well. The true nature of people is also shown, like when Linc bettayed fellow indian people for the sake of money and survival.
The environement
The author clearly takes a stance in the environment problem. She warns us about the terrible consequences that ignoring the problem will cause.
The plot
Metaphors
The dreams
The constant mentions of the dreams seems to be pointed at the fact that the dreams are a metaphor for its figurative meaning, hope. Maybe the author chose indigenous because a lot of them hope for better conditions. Their dreams might also be a metaphor for native Indian culture.

The plot itself is very basic, as the book is more centered around its characters. It's basically a very stereotypical survival genre. They are pursued by recruiters because their bone marrows have the ability to let people dream. I personally think the plot is weak and is not interesting as it is just like any other mediocre science fiction book.
Location and details
They are headed north, and they are north in the setting. The environment surrounding them is very different from our reality. Its also always raining, damn.
