It all started with frenchie and his brother mitch. They were hiding from the recruiters but unfortunately they came by. Mitch decided to save his brother. He forced him to climb a pine tree and hide at the very top. That day, Mitch got caught and never came back. Frenchie decided it was time to change location. He went alone and walked north like his dad said. After couple of days, his energy was getting very low. Fortunately, he found a group of indigenous people like him that consited Chi-boy, Wab, Tree, Zheewon, RIRi and Slopper They all suffered a difficult past or lost a family member. They often shares stories. They are always on the run to survive. One day they founded Rose and accepted her in the family. To survive they need food. A good source is hunting. Frenchie had the opportunaty to kill moose but didn't. Does it mean he is different? Throught the book, everyone is telling their stories. It develops young children
consciousness. It makes them realize the world is dangerous and explain how it went to hell. To survive they need to keep dreaming and always have a eye behind their back.
