present but not diagnosed till later years
Northern European descent
greater in females
history of chronic gastritis
H. Pylori
possible trigger for autoimmune reaction
Treatment
initial: weekly B-12 injections
chronic: monthly B-12 injections
not preferred
high oral doses of B-12
endoscopy screening
increased risk for GI cancer
blood products if needed

missing intrinsic factor
