Purple Hibiscus: Represent the freedom of the family.
Mama's Figurines: Represent the fear to the papa in this family.
The symbols clearly show the theme of the novel. They represent the process of a growing personal voice. when the purple hibiscus is bloomed, the family is freedom and when the figurines are broken, they are not fear to papa anymore.
Character
Mama: The wife of Papa and also afraid of Papa.
Papa: A wealthy man and often does charity. However, he applied domestic violence to his family.
Kambili: The sister in the family. She is very afraid but also look up to his father's success.
Jaja: The brother in the family that resisted his father will first
Faculty: The staff at Women's right and health who helped to solve Jaja and Kambili's problem.
