"Part fools, put up your swords, you know not what you do."
This reminds us of Christ's last words "father forgive them, they know not what they do." Just as Christ is a peacemaker- Benvolio takes on this role. Luke 23:24
"I pray thee, good Mercutio, Let's retire"
His name "Benvolio" means good will which fulfils his role as the peacemaker. He can be compared to Jesus as he directly quotes Luke 23:34 "Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing."
