this also applies to diet = over the decades, diet has changed significantly. Prior generations (around the 1800s and early 1900s, most of the human diet has been centered around plant-based foods. However, once consumerism and capitalism started growing around the 50s and 60s, fast foods, processed foods and packaged foods started becoming more and more popular. People started turning to easy ways out in terms of eating, as well as turning to foods that tasted better, so foods full of sugars, additives and chemicals. Consumption of sugary drinks, junk food and animal products increased dramatically, purely because they caused satisfaction. This had a huge affect on health (heart disease, certain types of cancer...)
this shows how people tend to take the easy way out, or the easy path when it comes to certain choices, regardless of the consequences, purely because it causes pleasure and/or comfort.
