Eg. change in understanding of our diet led to the noun 'carbicide' meaning eating too many carbohydrates, reflecting the chnges in our underatnding in diet.
Once ws thought that fats increased weight gain however scientific evidence has proved that carbohydrates are worse.

Grammer and Syntax
Used to be a highly inflected language, eg. 'queen' was 'cwen' (SUBJECT) and 'cwene' (OBJECT)
After Norman invasion, English was simplified and lost many endings and SVOCA got much more strict.

All vowels moved one place of articulation backwards, due to mass migration of people between regions as a result of the plague.

Belcives language change is due to - Economy- Saving effort on shortening words is more efficient and advantageous eg. 'innit' 'bruv' 'wasn't'
Analogy- make irregular verbs regular eg. used to have 2 plural markers 'en' and 's', now 's' used for everything except for 'children' 'bretheren' and 'oxen'
Expressiveness- trying to avoid clichés and predictable language, as we use words more tey become less vivid.
