      - First half cycle
        
        point A is positive if B conducts
        
        when rectifier B conducts,current I flows through ABC and OA and also load R
        
        Rectifier E at that time in reversed biased and does not conduct current
      - Second half cycle
        
        point F is positive if rectifier E conducts
        
        rectifier E conduct current as it now forward biased
        
        current flows through FEC and OF and also load R
        
        rectifier B is now becoming reverse biased and does not conduct current
    - - 2 rectifiers and a transformer with a centre-tapped secondary are used
  - - - 4 rectifiers are used in the circuit and formed as a bridge
    - - if point A is positive
        
        rectifier 1 and 2 conduct current which flows through ABC,DEF and load R
    - - if point F is positive
        
        rectifier 3 and 4 in forward biased
        
        current flows through FEC,DBA and load R
- - - - the current is in forward direction of a rectifier
      - potential difference across R is created with the same value as that applied potential difference
    - - current is in reversed biased direction
      - as resistance of rectifier is very high,no current flows
      - the potential difference across R is zero
