THREATS TO BIODIVERSITY
Habitat lost
-
An impact would be if we cut 1/3 of
the Amazon Rain forest because we need to grow crops but that would leave the lost of homes for a lot of animals.
Pollution
Chemicals, noise, heat, or even light beyond the capacity of the environment.
An example would be as if trash go's to the ocean there might be oil leaks and that would cause most fish to die because they haven't adapted to the water and since theirs no fish theirs no coral reef.
Alien/Invasive Species
-
An Impact would be if some zebra mussels conquer the great lakes and that might get on other boats to other lakes around the world cause other animals to not get enough food because the zebra mussels messed up the food chain.
-
Air Pollution
-
An example would be if we released a dangerous toxin then killed of bugs but then the grass as well.
Overpopulation
-
Since theirs so much of our species we have to make our own homes and to do that we have to destroy others and that causes other animals not to have homes.
Over-exploitation
-
An example would be if we needed Ivory we would need to kill elephants but then we would probably kill them to they almost go to extinction.
Sustainable Use
-
If we use most of these resources then animals might not have enough food maybe not even for themselves or have homes then will lead to extinction.
