Darfur Genocid
480,000 killed and 2.8 million displaced
In many cases, the raiders would throw the dead bodies into the wells to infect the water. They would also kidnap and rape the women
Is occurring in Africa, on the country Sudan
When the tribes are raided, almost everyone is either killed or banished from ever returning.
rebel groups composed of mostly non-arab sedentary tribes started rebelling, so the government started bombing and raiding non-arab sedentary tribes, even tribes that had nothing to do with the rebellion
personal interpretaion
The holocaust is a perfect example in human history about just how awful the human race is and can be. Even the Governments are horrific to allow something like this to happen and not do more to stop it
When you read a first hand account and feel the pain as they describe it, you understand what they went through a lot better.
The purpose of these memoirs is to inform people of what the holocaust was really like and make sure people don't just brush it under the carpet and forget it ever happened
People need to realize the pain and agony that these people went through, even if they got lucky and survived the holocaust, none of them actually survived, you don't just watch millions of your comrades die and live a normal life, every one of them that was there for the Holocaust and actually witnessed the horror was traumatized for the rest of their life from the Holocaust
