Native Americans

Colonials cause all of their problems

They have a number of amazing songs, chants, and poetry

They have interesting rituals, i.e. sun dance, dead race

How can I include a passion of mind to show a connection?

Passions

Music

Art

Sleeping

Cooking

I could make a dish

Non-meat, no peanuts

Fry Bread

Easy to make, tastes good, can bring some in for class

I can draw a picture on screen

If its not amazing it could be offensive and boring to watch

I can write a song, but it may seem offensive

Maybe a dreamlike video with fourth-wall breaks?

It could be funny and not horrible to watch in class

How should I frame the video.

Demonstration

Vocal over video

unlike the video on depression, there is nothing I can demonstrate without appropriating culture

I can speak like Emily Pitts

Its a little superficial, but it might work

Reflection

I like the way my video turned out

Could have definitely used more audio, but the act of making something is also important to watch

Fry Bread

I should have noticed the bubbles with the chopstick

I set off a fire alarm

The bread in the end of the video is remade

I think it sounds superficial, but I know we weren't supposed to just dish out facts

I think for me, It was powerful to relate something I like to do with the single story I learned about. The fact that I got to cook really made my day, and although it may not have come out well in post, I tried to relate steps to the experience.

Adding dry ingredients was native american tribes being associated together

Milk was colonizers and brought up trouble --> It was sticky

Cooking = talking about what is good about them

Finished product = "They are Naive Americans"
