Types of networks
Local area network serves a small area such as a school or office building and is usually managed by a manager and a small team
Peer to peer network is a network where there is no central server and all computers are connected together and without having to go through a server they can communicate directly
Each computer can share info between each other which the clients store info on their computers
Wide area network connects multiple LANs over a large area to form a network of smaller networks to which large companies can use this over their sites to share files and other resources
Client-server network is a network where there is a power main computer the server which clients log in to these servers and share files and resources to which all files are held on the server and the server is responsible for security measures
The virtual area network is one that extends a private network across a public network and enables users to send info as if they were on the private network
The personal area network is one which is a computer network for interconnecting devices in a single person's workplace
