Justin Trudeau's re-election.
Justin Trudeau was re-elected during this year’s federal election, with fewer votes than the conservatives. This was due to the first past the post system.
Justin Trudeau lost the majority government he had last year. This was due to the increased amount of voters choosing other parties such as (primarily) the Conservatives, the NDP and the Bloc Quebecois (In Quebec).

Conservative Voter:
The fact that Justin Trudeau won this year's federal election is ridiculous. During his early years as Prime Minister, he promised to remove the first past the post system because he thought it was an unfair style of voting. (Scheel) Yet now that he has won because of that same system he hasn’t commented on it at all. To go along with that, borderline entire provinces such as Alberta, and Saskatchewan had voted for the conservative party (Canada Polls 2019), so to allow the liberals to win this election was unfair to an immense group of Canadians.
Liberal Voter:
The first past the post system has been implemented in the Canadian voting system for many decades. For the liberal party to win now because the system is no different than if any other party was to win. This means that Justin Trudeau and his party were even more suited for prime ministry because they were able to draw enough of the votes from more districts than any other party. Meaning that their beliefs were more suited for the majority of districts.
NDP Member of Parliament:
After this past election, it was a shame that the NDP got such a low number of seats in comparison to the other parties. However, after further consideration, the NDP party has decided to request a coalition government with Justin Trudeau and his liberal party, due to our common beliefs against Andrew Sheer, and the conservative party. Even though the liberals were able to win during this election, having a majority government with them would not only benefit the NDP party but would also help eliminate any opposing parties.
Canadian Environmentalist:
I don’t have any problems with Justin Trudeau being re-elected with fewer votes than the conservatives. Although the conservatives had made a goal within their campaign to ensure things like making fuel providers lower the GHG associated with their products, and aiding those who design and manufacture technology that would allow the average Canadian to use more clean energy and in wiser ways. When the Conservatives were last in power they promised similar things, however, they were not very committed to achieving these goals. The liberals, on the other hand, have taken action and made goals that they have been working towards for the past 5 years.

Conservative Voter:
Although the conservative party lost the election, they still had enough votes to ensure that the liberal party didn’t get another majority government. Now parties such as the conservative, NDP, bloc Quebecois, and green party can govern and judge whether or not the decisions or ideas the liberal party brings up are just feasible. To go along with that the government will now be able to do things not only the liberal government wants to do.
Liberal Voter:
Since the liberal party did not get over fifty percent of the votes during this election they lost their position as a majority government. Granted it isn’t the ideal position I had hoped for, I’m just happy that the liberals got the most seats in the house of parliament. This way we can still project our ideas to the best of our ability, and still incorporate the feedback from other parties, along with us providing feedback to them. Sadly this also means that not every decision made by Justin Trudeau and his party will be put into action.
Canadian Environmentalist:
Since Justin Trudeau, and the liberal party lost their majority government, that could be good or bad for the number of carbon emissions Canada releases. Justin Trudeau’s plan has been working for the past 5 years, however, since he does not have a majority government, he and his party would have to approve anything they do with the rest of the house of commons. Although the other parties mean well in terms of lowering carbon emissions, they may not agree with each other's methods thus slowing things down and resulting in more planning than action. Not to mention that the other parties such as the conservative could convince other parties to side with them on actually constructing the trans mountain pipeline (could cause mass carbon emissions).
NDP Member of Parliament:
We are happy that Justin Trudeau and his party lost their place as a majority government because now our party gets more of a say within the house of commons. This is because the liberals need our seats to ensure that a coalition government (majority government) forms. The results from this election had the best possible outcome for the NDP party, other than winning of course. We were much happier to see that the liberals had more seats than the conservative party, as our beliefs rival no one better than them.
