Work on my knowledge base to be able to answer questions more effectively. This would allow me to better help new technicians or Pharmacists entering the practice. To be more clear, I want to further my knowledge of medications and conditions.

Vision and/or Purpose
Inter-professional leadership is being able to demonstrate regular leadership qualities and apply them while keeping in mind a broader scope as part of a inter-professional team. This team includes other practitioners that we will work with including nurses, doctors and physicians. As an inter-professional leader it's one's goal to promote more effective teamwork.
As much as I am committed and passionate about my work I don't know if I have a vision of my future or a purpose to hold on to
I feel as though I have good listening skills for the most part but my speaking skills are not on par where I would like them to be

I am an honest person and I refuse to lie to people. I also have high morals and values that I uphold.
I am an empathetic person and I have the ability to not only understand another's emotions but I tend to be able to feel the same emotions
Continuing with honesty and integrity I try to do things in such a way that the person I'm doing it for clearly understands my intent. I tend to "leave my heart on my sleeve" per se
When I sign myself up for a project I am committed to getting it done to the best of my abilities. I may not always have the passion for the task at hand but my commitment makes up for it.
When I am truly passionate about something I find commitment is just a secondary outcome.
Make sure I have a clear understanding of previously covered materials
Make sure I understand all the OTC medications we have studies thoroughly, names, indications and mechanisms of actions
Make sure I know all the prescription drugs we have covered their mechanisms of actions as well as indications
Know which resources to use to fill any voids in my knowledge or when needed as a reference

Servant Leadership
Bureaucratic Leadership
"Servant leaders live by a people-first mindset and believe that when team members feel personally and professionally fulfilled, they're more effective and more likely to produce great work regularly. Because of their emphasis on employee satisfaction and collaboration, they tend to achieve higher levels of respect" ("10 Common Leadership Styles," n.d.)
I believe that for a team to function to the best of their abilities the members of said team need to feel fulfilled.
Democratic Leadership
"The democratic leadership style (also called the participative style) is a combination of the autocratic and laissez-faire types of leaders. A democratic leader is someone who asks for input and considers feedback from their team before making a decision. Because team members feel their voice is heard and their contributions matter, a democratic leadership style is often credited with fostering higher levels of employee engagement and workplace satisfaction." ("10 Common Leadership Styles," n.d.)
As a leader I find it incredibly important that every one involved has their point of view heard.
"Bureaucratic leaders are similar to autocratic leaders in that they expect their team members to follow the rules and procedures precisely as written.
The bureaucratic leadership style focuses on fixed duties within a hierarchy where each employee has a set list of responsibilities, and there is little need for collaboration and creativity. This leadership style is most effective in highly regulated industries or departments, such as finance, healthcare or government." ("10 Common Leadership Styles," n.d.)
I have quite a lot of difficulty getting organized enough to be able to set out rules and procedure but I feel they have their place in a properly functioning team. Having rules set out and fixed duties among employees where each person has a job and may be specialized in that category. This leads to a workplace without much collaboration so it comes down what sort of workplace it is being applied to.
Transactional Leadership
"A transactional leader is someone who is laser-focused on performance, similar to a pacesetter. Under this leadership style, the manager establishes predetermined incentives—usually in the form of monetary reward for success and disciplinary action for failure. Unlike the pacesetter leadership style, though, transactional leaders are also focused on mentorship, instruction and training to achieve goals and enjoy the rewards." ("10 Common Leadership Styles," n.d.)
By creating incentives for employees it creates a reward system that makes employees more inclined to perform better. The traits I like most about transactional leadership and would like to adopt in my practice are mentoring, training and instruction new people at the workplace.
- Be able to perform dispensing duties flawlessly.
- Be able to perform all steps of compounding including: Math, creating compound formulas, entering patient prescriptions, and compounding the product for the patient as well as labeling and dispensing said Rx
- I will attend 7/8 open labs per month to be sure I am getting enough practice.
This goal is going to take a lot of work but I believe it is achievable. I just need to commit to it and dedicate my time to bettering my craft.
By having these skills as well as the knowledge base I built in my first smart goal I think I will be better suited to become a mentor
This goal is within reach and would further my ability to perform well in my career.
