Problem
The problem is that landfills will be filled up and very soon humanity will not have a safe place to dispose their trash. This will then create a place where garbage is everywhere, and since garbage will outlast humans it will create a vicious cycle.
Solution
To create a product or a prototype of a composting container to reduce the food waste that our community creates or to raise awareness about the waste in our community
Role
To become a textiles and or product designer. The job is to design a product that solves a problem
Audience
1) School community 2) A specific client 3) Community organisations
Situation
The amount of food waste accounts for 38% of the municipal solid waste in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong generates approximately 3,648 tonnes of food waste each day.
EPD said Hong Kong's three huge outdoor landfill sites are piled high with trash and are set to reach capacity by 2020.
Product
The product made will either solve the problem or educate people about the problem
