Reaction Rates
Pressure: You can increase the reaction rate of the same amount of particles by decreasing the area that they have to perform the reaction.
Surface Area: increasing the surface area increases the number of collisions per second so the reaction rate increases.
Temperature: If the temperature is increased then the rate at which particles collide is going to increase so at a higher temperature reaction will occur more frequently
Concentration: increasing the concentration of a reactant increases the number of collisions per second so the reaction rate increases.
-
Catalysts & Inhibitors: Catalysts increase the reaction rate by providing an alternative energy path that has a lower activation energy while inhibitors decrease the reaction rate by increasing the activation energy.
