What did you learn about change and project management?
Leadership has an important role and big impact on employee engagement in change and project management
Bringing theories in practice by applying change and project management theories to our case. For different organisations, situations and people, there are different types of change and project management theories, examples and strategies available.
Plan, plan, plan!
We learnt about the purpose of project management. Project management helps us to identify and set our goals and how we can achieve them including the required resources and time frames. It makes sure that everyone of the project team is on the same page and knows the purpose of the project.
Human resources and individuals are very important in bringing about change.Change models must be chosen carefully. Clear strategy and statement from the start. Revisit, review, redefine.
Anna called us the « magnificent 7 » and I think it was one of the most accurate statement of what we should aim to be for a project management. Étienne Wenger identified communities of practice in his research on social learning and in this project we did exactly this. We learnt and develop our understanding of the task from each other. Some of us had no knowledge or limited knowledge, others were mastering project management like experts. Yet, in the end we now are all confident on taking projects individually.
Why is it meaningful to you?
The world changes in a fast pace and change management is a must-have in organizations.
Bringing about change in any working environment requires specific knowledge. This course gave me an excellent introduction to change management concepts and methods.
Having a better understanding of how organisations work, methods of and choices to be made in change and project management .
Innovative project management tasks will be a required skills in the future as a result having to read and research about them will be useful for the next project management that will be undertaken. Especially when it comes to leading projects online.
All stakeholders are important in bringing about change.
What did we learn as a group?
Working with others is so much better than working alone. Collaborating and creating together gives new meaning to any project.
Communication among all project members is key. Over-communication is better than under-communication.
