The Bluest Eye represents the stories of a young African American girl who longs for Blue Eyes because, in a world where she lives, those that look like her are the other and aren't supposed to mean anything. Their humanity, according to a superior race, isn't valued, where little girls are taught to hate being who they are, and those who want to embrace themselves are told to stop.
