- - - - 2. Positive Praise- Encourage student involvement and good behavior this can build a good rapport with the teacher and help boost self esteem.
        
        Reduce assignments or simplify- Focus on what the student absolutely needs to learn and know. Have student complete even or odd problems instead of all.
    - - Interventions Successful after 6 months of Data tracking? NO Move to Tier 2.
        
        Tier 2 Intervention
        
        Check in check out- When a student has failed to respond to other interventions and general class, student will check in and check out with the teacher or someone in administration. This can improve student accountability and provides daily feedback and support.
        
        2. Non-verbal Ques and signals- Student can choose what signal they wish to use. This can help a student refocus you can practice with the student and explain when you notice they might need some re-focus.
        
        Interventions Successful?
        
        Yes- the more structured support has increased student to turn in work and he has begun writing in class. Keep the tier 2 interventions going until no longer needed.
        
        No- Move to tier 3 interventions
        
        Tier 3 Intervention
        
        RTI (Response to Intervention)- This is a 3 tiered strategy that uses a test as a baseline to addresses academic deficits that lead student to acting out. After a focused intervention in supporting academic deficit, the student is retested. Continue process until you find and intervention the student responds to.
      - Intervention successful? Yes- Student is successfully turning in homework and feels comfortable trying watitten work. Continue LifeSchool for another 2 months and create an exit strategy.
- - - - Take a break- Student uses non-verbal signal when they need to take a fresh air break. The location and length of the break is agreed upon in advance.
- - - - Interventions Successful?
        
        YES - The more intensive interventions helped the student to feel more connected to the change. Progress monitoring continued but tapered down as time progressed.
        
        NO - Move to Tier 3 Interventions
        
        Tier 3 Intervention
        
        Data Referred to Parents and School Psychologist for Evaluation Potential IEP revision or implementation of Behavior Intervention Plan and Functional Behavioral Assessment.
      - 1. Reward System- The reward system is used when Tier 1 interventions proved unsuccessful. The student responds well to a challenge with a pay off. Used because of chronic behavior challenges displayed during tier 1.
        
        2. Behavior Contract- This can be used to specify a length of time a student should demonstrate expected behaviors. It helps the student take ownership in changing the behavior. There are clearly defined natural consequences for the outcome.
