temple roofs were usually very colourful
Most greek temples followed a simple pattern: The outside would be surrounded by a row of columns and thise columns would support the temple.
Religion
Believed in multiple gods, "polythiestic"
There was no standard religious sacred text (e.g The Bible), so religious practices were organised on local levels.
This was performed at altars (outside temple buildings)and usually consisted of sacrificing a domestic animal.
The inedible parts were burned, and the meat was taken and prepared for eating. The temple kept the skin to sell to tanners.
12 gods: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Ares, Artemis, Aphrodite, Apollo, Hermes, Hephaestus, Dionysus, and Athena
Each city-state would worship different Greek gods, and build temple for them(see Architecture)
