Twilight & Amal Unbound
Sentence 1:Everything changes when Amal says " But this wasn't supposed to happen for another few weeks!". I think this is important to know when everything changes because then that part of the story grows more and more into the story later on.
Sentence 2: The sentence that introduces one of the most important themes in the story is when in the beginning of the quote says " That moment before my world changed. (and then later it says) One second I was standing. ( and then finally ) The next, slammed backward onto the ground.
Sentence 3: A sentence that describes Jawad Sahib is " I took in the clean shaven face, the closely trimmed hair, and the eyes hidden by dark sunglasses. To add on I liked how the author told us how Amal saw that he had a clean shaven face.
Sentence 4: The sentence that introduces a conflict is when Amal's father says " He wants a word with me. This Friday. One of his officers dropped off this note." Many people think that this isn't the biggest conflict because later on in the book they think that it has nothing to do with the ending of the book, but I think that It does because at the end she finally doesn't have to be a servant and then you look back and remember that this was one of the big conflicts.

Sentence 3: A sentence that describes Edward in Bella's mind is "I looked at his concerned innocent expression and was disoriented again by the force of his gold-colored eyes."
Sentence 5: The sentence that shows Amal has changed was when the plot changed and she had to become a servant. This makes me realize that their wasn't the biggest plot in the book. I will have to see what other people think about that.
Sentence 7: The conflict resolves when Jawad Sahib says" She will live on my estate and work for me. She will pay off your debts". I used to think that the conflict was resolved after they had the talk but now I'm realizing that it was this quote that made the conflict resolve.
Sentence 7 : A sentence for how a conflict in the story is resolved was " You take me back, I tell my dad I want to go back to Phoenix. I pack my bags. We wait till this tracker is watching, and then we run. He'll follow us and leave Charlie alone. Charlie won't call the FBI on you family. Then you can take me any damned place you want. " I used to think that the conflict was resolved a little after the baseball game, but then i realized that they only resolved the conflict once they were almost at Bella's house.
The sentence that introduces one of the most important themes in the story is when in the beginning of the quote says " I do like him, that's the problem. ( then later) I can't do this anymore! I can't put down any more roots here! I don't want to end up trapped in this stupid, boring town like Mom! I'm not going to make the same dumb mistake she did. ( and finally at the end) I hate it, I can't stay here another minute!'
Sentence 8: The authors style of describing people is described when Amal descibes her friend Hafiz as "Omar's dark hair looked almost brown under the bright afternoon sun. This is important for me because if I couldn't understand how the author describes her characters then how could I compare it to another book.
Sentence 9: The authors style of describing places is described when Amal first sees the inside of Jawad Sahid's mansion. It was descibed " Fluorescent lights hung over counters that ran the length of the room." This is giving me the idea that the author really tries to explain in detail where her characters are.
Sentence 19: The setting effects the plot is when is says " My mother lay in bed. A thin sheet was draped over her. Raheela Bibi, the midwife, pressed a damp towel to her forehead. My mother's eyes were shut. Her jaw clenched. " I noticed that this section of the story connects to the whole story because this started the whole plot of the story.
Sentence 10: A sentence that shows the author is good at handling dialogue is how she explained what hit Amal. She explained it by writing " A car. Black with darkened windows". The reason for this is that I picked this quote because to me it was the best quote that described how the author handled dialogue.
Sentence 11: A sentence that shows the author is good at handling allusions is " The elephant chases the dog. The dog chases the cat. The cat chases the mouse. The mouse chases the any. The ant chases the elephant, and around and around they go."
Sentence 12: A sentence that shows how the author handles irony is how Amal tells people " New arrivals. Pomegranates. Coconuts. Apples," she said. Later on " Two pomegranates rested in the crate perched next to the onions and apples". This represents how the author is very good about handle the irony she writes.
Sentence 13: A sentence that shows that the author included metaphors or similies is " That was the life I was used to, and it felt as distant to this one as the stars in the night sky. The stars that could no longer guide me home". This to me connects because of how she made the reference to how her life used to be and she referenced it to the night sky and how her life felt distant like the night sky.
Sentence 14:A sentences that shows the author is poetic is " Maybe this pomegranates was the sign of hope I needed. A bit if sweetness after all the bitterness. On the other hand some people think that the author could have been a little more poetic in this quote from the book but I think that the author did a great job being poetic.
Sentence 15: A sentence that tells the theme of the book is " She will live on my estate and work for me. She will pay off your debts". I partly agree that the author was trying to say this was one of the big themes but I think she could have made a bigger theme then all the little ones she had through out the story because then the story would have had a bigger plot and message.

His lips twitched as he stared at the road."he finally admitted" I think this is important to know when everything changes because then that part of the story grows more and more into the story later on.
Sentence 16: Some flaws of the book are how the author really doesn't go into to much detail of how characters are feeling and their emotions, also where they are. This is similar to my other book because my other books flaws were how the author was too descriptive with their characters and places their characters were.
Sentence 5: The sentence that shows how Bella has changed was " My name is Edward Cullen," he continued. " I didn't have a chance to introduce myself last week. You must me Bella Swan. Had I made up the whole thing? He was perfectly polite now. This makes me realize that this wasn't the biggest plot in the book. I will have to see what other people who have read the book and see what they think about that.
Sentence 6: One sentence that introduces a symbol is " He looks at you like ... like you're something to eat, " he continued, ignoring me. Chapter 11 pg. 221
Sentence 17:One moral problem of a character in the story is " She's she's just a child, " my father stammered. " I would like to let it go, but if I let this pass, who will disrespect me next?" This is different from any other book I have read because I have never read a book where a girl had to be a servant and that was one of the moral problems of the story.
Sentence 18: A sentence that shows a worldview of the author is in the book an overview of what she says is " It is my hope this story shines a light on brave girls everywhere. After a while I thought about how the author made a really good worldview of the book.
Sentence 20 : A sentence from the book that is foreshadowing is " My new life was simply about making choices, none of which I actually wished to make".
Sentence 21: One sentence in the book that reminds me of an issue in the world is " Local landlord Overthrown."
Sentence 8: A sentence that shows how the author's style of describing people is" Charlie wasn't comfortable with expressing his emotions out loud. " This is important for me because if I couldn't understand how the author describes her characters then how could I compare it to another book.
Sentence 9: The author's style of describing places is described when she wrote " It was seventy-five degrees in Phoenix, the sky a perfect, cloudless blue." . This is giving me the idea that the author really tries to explain in detail where her characters are
Sentence 10: A sentence for how the author handles important dialogue is " Just let me go, Charlie." I repeated my mother's last words as she'd walked out this same door so many years ago. I said them angrily as I could manage, and then threw the door open. " It didn't work out, okay?" I really really hate forks!" The reason for this is that I picked this quote because to me it was the best quote that described how the author handled dialogue
Sentence 11: The author handles allusions well because she wrote " There are stories of the cold ones as old as the wolf legends, my own great grandfather knew some of them. He was the one who made the treaty that kept them off our land."
Sentence 12: The author shows irony when she wrote " With another sigh, I turned to my computer. Naturally, the screen was covered in pop-up ads. I sat in my hard folding chair and began closing all the little windows. Eventually I made it to my favorite search engine. I shot down a few more pop-up ads and then typed in one word. Vampire." This represents how the author is very good about handle the irony she writes.
Sentence 13: A sentence that shows that the author wrote a metaphor or similie is " His fingers were ice-cold, like he'd been holding them in a snowdrift before class." This to me connects because of how the author makes you feel like you could feel how cold his hands were.
Sentence 14: A sentence that shows how the author was poetic was when she wrote" The clock tolled again ,and the sun beat down from the exact center point of the sky. On the other hand some people think that the author could have been a little more poetic in this quote from the book but I think that the author did a great job being poetic.
Sentence 15: The message of the book is when the author wrote " So the lion fell in love with the lamb." Chapter 13 pg 274. I partly agree that the author was trying to say this was one of the big themes but I think she could have made a bigger theme then all the little ones she had through out the story because then the story would have had a bigger plot and message.
Sentence 16: Some flaws from the book are the author was too descriptive of how some of the characters feelings and emotions, and how she was very descriptive of the places they were. This is similar to my other book because my other books flaws were how the author wasn't too descriptive with their characters and places their characters were.
Sentence 4: " My hair ruffled with the light breeze, Edward stiffened, and the second male, James, suddenly whipped his head around scrutinizing me, his nostrils flaring."
Sentence 17: A sentence that shows a moral problem of one of the characters is " You're leaving tonight, wheather the tracker sees or not. You tell Charlie that you can't stand another minute in Forks. Tell him whatever story works. Pack the first things that you touch, and then get in your truck. I don't care what he says to you. You have 15 minutes. Do you hear me? 15 minutes from the time you cross the door step. " This is different from any other book I have read because I have never read a book where a girl fell in love with a vampire and has to fight for her life to still be with him in the end.
Sentence 18: A sentence that tells the authors worldview is " The novels danger factor sky rockets as the excitement of secret love and hushed affection morphs into a terrifying race to stay alive... Twilight will have the readers dying to have their teeth sank into it." After a while I thought about how the author made a really good worldview of the book.
Sentence 19: A sentence that shows how the setting affects the plot is " I knew that if I'd never gone to Forks, I wouldn't be facing death. But, terrified as I was, I couldn't bring myself to regret the decision." I noticed that this section of the story connects to some stories I've read because of how she sometimes regrets how they move to a place but then they realize they made the right decision.
Sentence 20: A sentence that shows foreshadowing is" They were traveling much quicker then I thought. I can see I had they perspective wrong before."
Sentence 21: A sentence with an issue in the world that I think is in the book is " That's better. I'm sure it won't be easy, but if i get the slightest hint that you have company, well, that would be very bad for your mother. "
