Nathen's Life after High School
Boston University 2024. Committed ED December 11
College of General Studies: 2 Year program at BU
Questrom Business School: potential major after CGS
Real estate: my family are all in real-estate fields. I'd be able to learn more in this field from experience with family.
Entrepreneurship: Classes offered at BU have fun approaches to teaching entrepreneurship. Also seems like a general major with a broad way to find jobs in the future.
Marketing: interested in customer relations
Architectural studies: has been an interest of mine since high school. I'd want to double major or minor in BU history of architectural studies.
shadow programs: a-day-in-the-life type program for students with interest in job. Attending these events lets me explore my possibilities of working in certain environments.
portfolio development: architecture courses/internships usually require a journal of the works students have done in the fields of architecture design. I'd add onto my portfolio by working with others, exploring case studies, or designing personal work,
internships/career studies: find architecture firms in Boston or California to gain experience from. Internships offer wide variety of exposure to professional settings.
tour Boston historical sites: Boston, Massachusetts is a historical town being one of the thirteen colonies. It has lots of historical sites as well as a unique style of residential architecture. Visiting these older places can give me understanding on how America architecture is developed and designing overtime.
Bartos Architecture. My internship since 2017. Small firm located in San Mateo, CA
SMFC School. Project for San Mateo/Foster City on potential new elementary school development. Project expected to be approved 2023. Will help my architecture knowledge, portfolio, and work filed experience.
LAX Project: Los Angeles International Airport terminal remodels/additions. Design, development, and project execution to be handled partially by Bartos Architecture. My designs and project work will be used in development of LAX buildings.
Gap Year: BU will start January for me due to CGS.
work to save up money: teaches me independence and determination. however, will take organization and time management
take classes at CSM: can get head start on GE courses during fall 2020 rather than wait until spring at BU
travel with family and friends: I will be able to travel back to Taiwan after 2 years to spend time with grandparents. However, I might miss out on time to take GE credit courses.
continue/discover career opportunities through internships: diversify my career interests and strengthen work field experience.
