ATP Production
Respiratory System
-
O2 needed for cellular respiration is obtained through breathing (external respiration) in animals, and photosynthesis in plants
The CO2 inhaled through our nose gets converted into O2 which is later gets exchanged with CO2 through diffusion in which O2 is transferred to the red blood cells present in the capillary surrounding the alveoli.

Circulatory System
Brief overview:
- Right side of the heart pumps blood to the lungs and has more of CO2
- From the lungs, the blood becomes rich in oxygen and is sent to the left auricle.
- The left side of the heart pumps blood to all other body parts and the blood being pumped is rich in oxygen.
- the blood is sent back to the heart because that is the pumping organ and the lungs can't pump blood
- The O2 rich blood gets sent to the upper and lower body through the left ventricle.
- and it is used up for cellular respiration
- After ATP is produced, and CO2 is released, it is sent back to the right auricle from the lower and upper body.
