Vocabulary
Titration
An analysis in which the quantity of some essential element of a sample is determined by adding to the already measured sample an exactly known quantity of another substance. This added substance will react with the one in the sample, thus using the proportion to know the quantity of the first samples.Video with explanation
Equivalence point
Is the point a chemical reaction where the chemical equivalent of the reactants have been mixed.
moles of acid are equal to the moles of base in accordance to the equation
-
Concentration
.
The concentration of a solution is a measure of the amount of solute that has been dissolved in a given amount of solvent or solution.

-
Stock solution
A stock solution is a concentrated solution that will be diluted in a lower concentration, so we can be able to use it. This solution is used to save time in preparation, conserve materials, reduced storage space, and improve accuracy.
-
End point
The point in which an indicator demonstrates that the amount of the reactant needed for the complete reaction has been added to the solution.
-
-
PPM
Parts per million, a unit of concentration denoting one part per 106 mass. It is useful for very low concentrations.
-
-
Indicator
Indicators are substances whose solutions change color due to changes in pH. F
For example, the color of hydrangea flowers changes depending on the pH of the soil.
-
Standard Solutions
The standard solutions are solutions where there is an accurate amount of a known substance or element. It is used to determine the concentration of a substance whose concentration is unknown.

Dilusions
in chemistry this is the addition of the solvent, which then decreases the concentration of the solute in the solution.
in other words it is thinning out a solution
-
Burette
A glass tube as shown on the right, that has a tap at one end which helps deliver specific volumes of a liquid.
