The spanish greatly enriched their empire and left a mark on the cultures of North and South America that exists today.
The Spanish had the advantage of superior weaponry,the Native Americans had developed no natural immunity,as result they died by hundred of thousands.

In 1532, another conquistador, Francisco Pizarro marched forced into South America. In 1533 Pizarro then marched on the incan capital.

Pedro de Peralta, governor of Spain's northern holdings, called New Mexico, led settlers to a tributary on the upper Rio Grande. They built a capital called Santa Fe, or "Holy Faith".
