after death of mohamed his successor started a great military expansion . muslims were strongly motivated and their enemies were weak they conquered middle east and north africa nearly the entire lberian peninsula ,nearly chinese empire , south france . the mediterranean became controlled by muslims and focal point of the christian world was pushed to the north in central europe .muslims were tolerated other religions and cultures . but other populations have to pay extra -taxes but they were partially autonomous
