The process of creating a new law is it has to go through 2 houses and the governor general. First it has to go through the house of representatives the first reading is the bill is introduced to the House of representatives, the second reading is the members debate and vote on the main idea of the bill, then it goes through the house committee where the public inquiry to the bill and then they report back to the House and then the consideration in detail which is where members discuss the bill in detail, including any changes to the bill, then there is the third reading which the members vote on the bill in its final form. After all that then the bill is passed in the House of Representatives and sent to the Senate. In the Senate the first reading is the bill is being introduced, the second reading is the senators debate on the and vote on the main idea of the bill, and the it goes to the senate committee where the public inquiry into the bill and reporting back to the senate and then the committee of the whole where the senators discuss the bill in detail, including any changes to the bill, the third reading is the senators vote on the bill in its final form. Then the bill is passed through the senate. Then finally the bill has to get passed through to the Royal Assent by the Governor-General which is where the governor general signs the bill and then ones he/she does the bill finally becomes a law of Australia.
