Often depicted with St. Michael the Archangel who pushed Satan into hell, St. George, among other things, is known for his fight with a dragon. Being dispatched by Constantine, before being Emperor, George heard tales of a dragon terrorizing an area in present day Libya. George eventually fought the dragon and slayed it. As a reward he simply asked the local king to build a church and eventually returned to Constantine after 5 years.After his martyrdom under the reign of Diocletian, the tale of George would become widespread among the empire.
