Lexington/concord - Thomas Gage led redcoats to Concord to destroy a colonial weapons store house, they were however met by minutemen in Lexington. Minutemen tried to stop the British soldiers however 8 men were killed, no one is sure who fired the first shots but that was the first violence of the war, "Shot heard around the world". - Concord - After the battle at Lexington, the British troops made their way to Concord only to find that the colonists, weapons, and the gunpowder were gone. Local minutemen met the British and engaged in a battle, the British were forced to retreat. On the way to return, the colonists attacked the British using guerrilla tactics, over all 73 British soldiers died. These two battles started the revolution
