The Dutch Golden Age period was about fanciness. His work did just the opposite. His work showed ordinary people doing something.

What I noticed about his paintings.

All lf his painting had a simple person dong something / their job.

His paintings sometimes show a wealthy person or a average person's work.

Vermeer paintings impact.

The impact that his paintings had is that paintings don't always have to be fancy because his painting were pictures of everyday people doing everyday things.

Overtime

At first, he was disrespected for his time to produce art and his lack of development of art. Nowadays, people respect his art because its not the time that matters, it is the quality of art.

What era is important

Copy

A situation where it is ok to copy someone else's work is when they have been dead/away for a while and you are trying to show the world the artists work. In a book I read, they made a fake painting so they could catch a thief.

Interesting

He was baptized on October 31,1632. He died on December 15,1675 (Age 43)

His most important era is how he made simple peoples life look fancier than it really was.
