Gives people the Freedom of Religion, Speech, Press, Potition, and Assembly.

No troop can be in a house during peace or during war without consent of the owner but in manner given by law.

Example:I can sue for a police officer coming into my house and searching it without a search warrant.
- Limits of Fines and Punishments
Definition:Prohibits excessive bails, fines and cruel and unusual punishments

- Trial by Jury in Civil Cases

Two people fighting over land and go to court, they would be allowed to have a jury.
- Powers of States and People
Definition:Doesn't give all the power of the constitution to the US government but to the states and people of the US.

- Right to a Speedy, Public Trial
Definition: Guarantees a speedy trial by a jury of one's peers. Also gives rights to have a lawyer by legal representation and they can bring in a witness of the crime and the witness can tell their testimony of what happened.

Definition: States the the list of rights described in the constitution is not exhaustive and that the people still have all the rights that are not listed
Example: The right of health insurance- meaning it is not mandatory to have because some people cannot afford it.
