Malala lives in the Swat valley, a small paradise surrounded by mountains, rich in lakes and prairies near Mingora, a city in Pakistan

BBC and Malala's Blog
BBC approached Malala's father to write a blog about daughter's under Taliban rule. He accepted, even though he was worried about her safety. Blog's name was "The diary of a Pakistani Schoolgirl". Malala wrote it under the pseudonym "Gul Makai". She became famous for it.

Getting Shot
On 9 October 2012 Malala was taking th bus home. Suddenly a Taliban with a gun boarded the bus and shot Malala. She woke up after a week in an English hospital and survived
