Layers of the meninges:
Arachnoid mater: spider web like collagen and elastic fiber, lacks blood vessels. Thin membrane that lack blood vessels
Subdural space- fluid filled area between dura and subarachnoid mater's.
Pia matter: inmost, nearly transparent layer; has many nerves and blood vessels. follows contours of brain and spinal cord. subarachnoid space- area between arachoid and pia mater; filled with cerebrospinal fluid
Dura mater: outermost layer, dense irregular c.t.with many blood vessels and nerves
Attached to periusteum
Meningitis- inflammation of meninges

Action potential
-
Strong enough stimulation or nerve impulse causes Na+ gates to open =》 Na+ rush into cell causing depolarization (membrane potential) goes causing OV or depolarization and momentarily becomes positively charged.

Division of Pns of the body (ex. Sensory, motor, somatic, etc)

Neurontransmitters:

-
Needs to be removed or will influence nerve indefinitely
-Some degraded by enzymes
-Some reuptake into cells
