The Second Sino-Japanese War was a military conflict fought primarily between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan from July 7, 1937, to September 2, 1945
The reason Japan was so successful in expanding its territory in 1942 was because: C) It did not have to fight the majority of US forces.
Japanese expansion in East Asia began in 1931 with the invasion of Manchuria and continued in 1937 with a brutal attack on China.
On September 27, 1940, Japan signed the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy, thus entering the military alliance known as the "Axis."

It happened because the The Bismarck and the Prinze Eugen wanted to attack convoys and supply ships that were headed to the Britain. They did this so Britain wouldn’t get supplies. So, Britain launched an attack against The Bismarck and the Prinze Eugen which started The Battle Of Denmark Strait.

Planes Usage
Bombers: Bombers were larger planes that carried war heads, flew over they’re target, and dropped them.
During WWI the fighters were called biplanes because of the two wings. They were much inferior and did not have the capacity to hold machine guns on the wings. Bombs from them were held by the pilot and dropped through the open cockpit.

China
warlord era
started when the chinese empire, or as called at the time Qing China which was japan's last dynasty collapsed in 1912
The warlord era for China was basically a massive civil war, or battle royale even with all these states fighting for control of China, but the big civil war that people talk about is when a communist warlord state in China led by Mao gained a lot of power through conquest and fought the other biggest warlord state in China which was nationalist china, which became the biggest war of this era and would decide the state that would rule all of china.
Obviously the chinese civil war heavily affected China during ww2. Since the two chinas were in the middle of a bloody civil war they were heavily weakened and not prepared when the japanese invaded, since it was so sudden and they were each in a conflict of its own.

After China and the allies defeated japan, the chinese united front was dissolved and the civil war continued, with the communist winning in the first of may, 1950, after 23 years of war.
