Passenger Vehicle
A vehicle constructed solely for the carriage of passengers and their effects.
Bus - A motor vehicle which is constructed or adapted to carry more than eight seated passengers in addition to the driver
Minibus - A motor vehicle which is constructed or adapted to carry more than 8 but not more that 16 seated passengers in addition to the driver
Large Bus - A vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 16 seated passengers in addition to the driver.
Coach - A large bus with a maximum gross weight of more that 7.5 tonnes and with a maximum speed restricted to 60 MPH
Invalid Carriage
A mechanically propelled vehicle the weight of which unladen does not exceed 254kg and which is specially designed and constructed and not merely adapted for use of a person suffering from some physical defect or disability and is solely used by such a person.
Class 1 - Max weight = 113.4kg not mechanically propelled
Class 2 - 113.4lgs max speed 4mph
Class 3 - 150kgs 4-8mph - 4mph on pavement
Mobility Scooter
Operator must be 14years +
Will have fitted a speed indicator and limiter for pavement use. A horn and a Max Width of 0.84Meters
Identifying VIN
WIN plates can be found in a number of places in a vehicle. Location available as per manufactures details, contact coms.
Registration Plates
Registration plates should be displayedd to the front and rear of the vehicle - not including a motorcycle - rear only.
If registration mark is not fitted to a vehicle then the relevant person is guilty of an offence - Section 42(1) Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994
